Build A Soccer Squad Card Types, Explained
Build A Soccer Squad card types split across two separate axes: how you earn a card, and whether it breaks past the normal rating ceiling. Mixing those up is where most confusion about card tiers comes from.
Axis One: How You Earn a Card
Most Build A Soccer Squad cards come from spending a Reroll on a pack pull with no special prefix — these are what the game's own data calls "standard" cards.
The four other categories below are earned a specific way rather than pulled randomly.
| Card Type | OVR | How to Get It |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Varies | Random pack pull via Reroll |
| Captain | 99 | Complete a full 2026 squad |
| Premium Captain | 99 | Complete a select 2002 World Cup squad |
| Prime | 100+ | Buy from the Hourly Shop (20 players rotate per cycle) |
| Cup Card | 105+ | Win 5 Cup Mode tournaments |
Where those numbers come from matters. The 105+ OVR on Cup cards is the one figure an established outlet confirms — Game Rant — and even that comes without a win count, so the five-tournament requirement rests on a single community guide. The same goes for the 99 OVR Captain rating and the standard/Premium split: PCGamesN, the only established outlet that covers Captains at all, ties the unlock to select teams from 2002 onward and quotes no rating. Bloxheed's own game description never mentions card types or OVR. The Captains and Cup Mode pages lay out each disagreement with its source attached.
Axis Two: Ceiling-Breaking Labels
Limitbreaker, GB, and SB are a separate label layered on top of a card, not a replacement for the categories above.
Limitbreaker cards are special player cards that exceed the game's normal overall-rating ceilings. The 2026-07-10 update added 10 new Limitbreaker cards alongside new Breakout card rewards and the LIMITBREAKER code, and the update notes live on the Roblox game page as of 2026-07-25 add 3 more.
GB and SB cards are a real card category. The official update notes on 2026-07-10 read "3 New GB and 2 New SB Cards", in the same patch as the Limitbreaker cards, and GB-prefixed players still show up in the card lists Pro Game Guides publishes.
See the full Limitbreaker cards guide for what's confirmed and what's still open about these two prefixes.
Reported but Unverified: "Legend" Cards
Some fan-run wiki sites describe a separate "Legend" card tier at 99 OVR, tied to historical players.
We could not confirm this anywhere else — not in the official Roblox game description, and not across any of the independent outlets on our source list (Pro Game Guides, All Things How, GameRant, Beebom, Pocket Tactics, Dexerto, Destructoid).
Since a fan wiki is the only place this claim appears, we're listing it here as unconfirmed rather than publishing it as a settled fact. If an independent, checkable source confirms a Legend tier, this section gets updated.
Why the Category Matters More Than the Number
A Limitbreaker or GB/SB label can push a card's OVR above a Prime or even a Cup Card, since it's breaking the normal ceiling rather than competing within it.
Ranking cards by raw OVR alone (as our tier list does) can put a ceiling-breaking card above a Captain or Cup Card, despite completely different unlock paths.
For squad planning, the acquisition method still matters more than the label. A guaranteed Captain from a completed squad is more reliable than hoping a rare Limitbreaker pull lands, even if the Limitbreaker card would rate higher on paper.
Sources and Verification
- All Things How — Beginner Guide (Coins, Chemistry, Best Squad) — Captain, Premium Captain, Prime, Cup Card table
- Roblox official game description — Limitbreaker cards
- Roblox official game description — the 2026-07-10 update notes named GB and SB cards. Bloxheed overwrites this text each patch and the 2026-07-25 version no longer mentions them, so that wording can't be re-checked at source.
- Pro Game Guides — lists GB-prefixed cards by name and rating, which is the outside evidence that the category exists (returned HTTP 403 on 2026-07-26, so this was not re-verified this round)
- "DO THIS NOW To Get OP Cards FAST... (GB & SB Guide)" — SpaceQT. A community video, not a source we treat as evidence; linked because it shows the farming routine, not to establish any fact.
Checked 2026-07-14. Legend tier status: unconfirmed (single fan-wiki source only, not counted as verified).
